Carina G. Duffy
Who am I? I ask myself that about every other day. But that is neither here nor there. I am a graphic designer who loves clean, beautiful and effective design and I jump at every opportunity to help startups, small businesses, entrepreneurs and non-profits achieve their goals through logo, web and print design. If you're interested in knowing a little more about how I ended up in design, you can read my story below. If you're interested in seeing what I've made, check out my portfolio!
Every designer (of any kind) has a unique story of how they ended up doing what they're doing. Mine is no different.
My road to graphic design has been anything but standard, and I kind of like it that way. With a B.S. in Athletic Training from Penn State, most people who ask me what I do now have the you are doing WHAT?! look on their face when I tell them I am a designer, or some just straight up say that to me out loud.
I began working for a non-profit called The Navigators at Penn State immediately after graduation and quickly realized that there was a great need for clean, simple and effective design in the non-profit world. I always volunteered to take on small design jobs for promoting conferences, retreats and events on campus because I saw the importance of making something that would compel students to participate in whatever we were doing.
I love the feeling of creating something that helps shape the way people view a particular event, program or organization.
That feeling is what ultimately drew me to the graphic design world. The more designing I did for The Navigators the more I wanted to be a graphic designer.
So in 2015 I launched Carina G. Duffy Designs and the rest is history.
